IHCC General Meeting Minutes – December 6th, 2008

President Bruce Jensen called the meeting to order at 12:20. He thanked the caterers for a good meal and continued the tradition of telling a joke. Guests and new members were recognized. Bruce reported that we gained 18 members at LeSueur.

Bruce reported that Paul Adelmann has resigned his position of board member and Vice President. Kathy Eckstrand was asked by the board to fill the position of Vice President, and accepted the appointment. Dave Kanten was asked to fill the board of directors vacancy, and accepted.

Current board members who’s terms are expiring are Kathleen Eckstrand, Nathan Hanson, and Werner Reining. A motion made by Bernie Kuttner, and seconded by Conrad Fiskness to re-elect those board members for another term was passed.

A draft of the logo for 2011 RPRU was presented by Joel and Linda Klein. A motion made by Rodney Eldevik, and seconded by Howard Holicky to let the RPRU Committee make the final design approval was passed.

Our MN IH Rally will be held at Jordan in 2010. They will officially accept us as their guest prior to the March meeting.

The 2009 MN IH Rally will be in Albany September 18, 19, and 20. Ron Eisenschenk is looking for a complete 06, which will be Albany’s feature tractor. Chapter 15 will be featuring all un-styled model tractors. Old dealership banners are welcome.

Members are needed to attend the Winter Convention in Waterloo IA and assist at the Chapter 15 booth.

Bruce reviewed his first year as President. Memorable events were the deaths of members Richard Kadelbach and Norm Sevcik on the same day in February, the presentation at RPRU and acceptance of a proposal to host 2011 Red Power Round Up, and the LeSueur Field of M’s.

Conrad Fiskness was recognized for putting together the Field of M’s concept and executing it. Conrad thanked Orville Deling, and Bob Koepp for their assistance lining up tractors. He passed out plaques to exhibitors who didn’t receive one.

Nathan Hanson was recognized as Treasurer and news letter editor.

Kathy Eckstrand presented options for a new meeting space in Mankato. The meeting space at the new Arlington community center is equivalent or less in price. A motion made by Ken Hanson, and seconded by Werner Reining, to hold our March 21 2009 at the new Arlington Community hall was passed. Mike Kaufmann will get the reservation. Arlington appears to be centrally located. Further research will be conducted to determine center of membership.

Articles of incorporation were discussed and David Alstad indicated he has copies .He will get those to Bruce Jensen for insurance purposes and to meet the National requirements.

Merchandise manager, Linda Klein gave a recap of the years events, and recognized those who helped her.

Door prizes were given away. Member Earl Holasek & Sons Green House donated the poinsettias that decorated the tables and were given as door prizes. Other door prizes were donated by Jensales, David Jensen, Duane Runke, Orville Deling, Dorthea Paul, and an anonymous donor.

The club trailer is being stored at the Kadelbach farms. A motion made by Joe Schimml, seconded by Dave Alstad to furnish a prepaid membership to Carol Kadelbach for trailer storage, was passed.

It was reported that Don Cervenka will not be able to chair the toy committee for the 2011 RPRU. If any members are interested contact Bruce Jensen or Joel Klein.

A motion was made seconded and passed to adjourn at 2:20 pm.
